A Family Tradition of Bidding Excellence
Founded two decades ago by the dynamic trio of the Mikert family - Mike, Kerri, and Tristan - mikert2010.com has grown from a humble barn auction to one of the most trusted online auction platforms. Our story began far from the digital world, in the heart of a small farming community where the first gavel fell.
The First Auction
It was a sunny Saturday in the spring of 2004 when Mike, then only a novice auctioneer, decided to auction off Old Bessie, the family's beloved but aging cow. The auction was more of a community event than a business venture, held right in the family barn. Kerri, with her keen eye for detail, described the cow's many virtues, while Tristan, with his natural flair for showmanship, handled the bidding. The auction was a success, not so much for the highest bid, but for the laughter, the stories, and the sense of community it fostered. This event sparked a realization: auctions weren't just about selling items; they were about bringing people together, sharing stories, and creating memories.
From Barn to Cyberspace
Encouraged by this experience, the Mikert family decided to expand their auctioning skills into a full-time business. What started as weekend barn sales soon evolved into a recognized auction house, specializing in everything from antiques to modern art. With the advent of the internet, we transitioned our operations online in 2010, hence the name mikert2010.com, making our auctions accessible to a global audience while maintaining the personal touch and integrity of our family-run business.
Our Promise
Now, 20 years later, mikert2010.com stands on the principles learned from that first auction with Old Bessie: transparency, community, and a touch of humor. We are committed to providing a platform where you can bid with confidence, knowing that behind every item is a story, and behind every transaction is a family dedicated to fairness and customer satisfaction.
Join us in our journey, not just to bid, but to be part of a tradition where every auction tells a story, and every bid is a step in our family's legacy.
